British tourists who are headed to Spain for their spring holidays are likely to find the resorts and villas are brimming with their fellow countrymen. A recent poll has shown that 28% of Brits are planning to spend their spring holiday in Spain, and car hire Spain has also proved to be more popular than in any other European destination.
However, before travelers make plans to hire a car for their Spanish vacation, they would benefit from doing some research on driving regulations in Spain. There are some major differences between driving in Spain and driving in Britain. For example, Spanish drivers are required by law to flash their headlights before overtaking another car on the road, and there are also new speed limits in place on Spanish roads which are designed to save fuel. From March 7, 2011, for instance, the speed limit on motorways was reduced from 120 km/h to 110 km/h.
