Florida Officials Cut Travel Expenses

Travel for officials in Florida seems to be getting lesser. According to an official report from Tallahassee (Florida), there has been a rapid decrease of 48 percent in the travel expenses of the state officials in past 4 years.

The report by the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government accountability indicates the steep fall in travel expenses. Travel expenses have dropped down to an astounding 55 million dollars. It was possible because the state employees skipped the idea of travel, instead they made more use of tele-conferencing and electronic conferencing.

The report suggests that the state could cut down the travel expenses even more by contracting with travel agents for getting better travel deals, cutting the hotel expenses, etc.
