A Canadian province consisting of an island of the same name, as well as other islands, Prince Edward Island (PEI) is a maritime province which is also sometimes called "Garden of the Gulf" and "Birthplace of Confederation".
Prince Edward Island is located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence west of Cape Breton Island, north of the Nova Scotia peninsula, east of New Brunswick and in the south it bounds the Northumberland Strait. PEI has a pastoral landscape and it is also a maritime must-see. It is best known for its rolling hills surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and red clay cliffs. It is Canada's smallest and greenest province.
