My day job being what it is, in all likelihood I won't be able to make it to Amsterdam this April. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.

Kayak has a good run down on the offerings available in the capital city of the Netherlands in April. And for starters, there will be tulips. And I'm quite fond of tulips.

Apart from the fact that Amsterdam is quite beautiful in the spring (and not too crowded, since peak tourist season hasn't really arrived yet), you also have to consider the Queens Day festival at the end of April. Queens Day is April 30th and Kayak describes it as July 4th, Saint Patrick's Day and Mardi Gras all rolled into one. The national holiday celebrates the birth day of Queen Beatrix.

Be sure and wear orange...
