Dubai has a new attraction, Atlantis The Palm, a water based entertainment complex which boasts more than 1500 luxury rooms and suites, exclusive shops, cafes, restaurants and a selection of water themed attractions.

Aquaventure, is the water adventure park. You can take the Leap of Faith where you zoom down the 30 metre drop from the Ziggurat into a Shark infested lagoon (through an clear acrylic tunnel). Then you can have a 2.3 kilometre trip in The Rapids down a tidal river where you'll be buffeted by wave surges and topple down a few waterfalls (which will seem insignificant after the Leap of Faith). Aquaventure is designed to hold up to 5000 visitors. It's all on such a grand scale that you'll never want to visit your local swimming pool again.

If Aquaventure sounds a bit too wild, you can meet the dolphins, walk through the underground tunnels of The Lost Chambers or relax on the 700 metre beach.

I think it'll prove to be a popular day out in Dubai.
