Travelodge are offering rooms in the UK for only £9 a night in their Winter Sale for stays between 1 December 2008 and 22 February 2009 on selected dates at selected Travelodges. This is a fantastic price for a room with a private bathroom which can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 kids (on a sofa bed). You must book online, at least 70 days before the date of your stay and pay the £9, which is non refundable at the time of booking.
Not all Travelodges are located at motorway service stations there are also some in city centre locations. I've stayed at many Travelodges over the years and have generally been very satisfied. Some of the older Travelodges are getting a bit scruffy and in need of refurbishment and one was practically on top of the motorway.

There are some great low price London bed and breakfast options at http://www.uk-expo.com – they have lots of London low price B&B, hotels and apartments and they are REALLY HELPFUL PEOPLE !!
