Air Travel

British Airways (LON:BAY) did appeal to the Transport & General Workers' Union to call it off but the union only agreed to cancel the first day of the originally planned three-day strike. The airline has not given up and would continue to negotiate but, for the time being, they would like to warn people in advance so that alternative travel arrangements can still be made.
So... note that British Airways cabin crew strike is planned on the 30th and the 31st of January, 2007. After which, they also plan to take further action on February 5,6 and 7 and February 12,13, and 14.
Who will be affected? Unfortunately, for us, travelers from the UK will be the most affected as the following flights would not be serviced during the strike dates:
- longhaul and shorthail flights from Heathrow
- shorthaul flights into Heathrow
- shorthaul flights to/from Gatwick
- flights to/from Tampa, Bermuda and barbados to/from Gatwick
Note that ONLY BA's mainline service will be affected. BA Connect, franchise carriers and codeshare partners will continue its operation, as usual.
For the complete details -- especially on what you can do -- check out the official webpage of British Airways.
