Carnevale can be literally translated as "meat farewell". An apt name as the carnival is celebrated before we all start with the rigours of Lent.
If you are interested in taking part in this year's folly and madness, you can head over to St. Mark's Square in Venice for some music, theatre, acrobats and dances along the canals, on bridges and inside palaces. Of course, no carnival is complete without all those gorgeous costumes and masks.
Carnival in Venice will start tomorrow, 09 February and will end on the 20th (on Fat Tuesday aka Mardi Gras), the day before Ash Wednesday.
Book your tickets and join the revelry soon!
