The demand for videos on travel websites is growing as the technology improves and more people have faster connections enabling the fast downloading of videos to their PC. While it's great to see photos of a destination, you can get a fuller picture by watching a video. The CompulsiveTraveler.tv site features a collection of videos shot by travellers for travellers. There videos of destinations all over the world. The video below is of Maastrand in Sweden.
If you live in the US and will be visiting Europe over the next few months. CompulusiveTraveler.tv is hosting the "My favorite European video contest." The prize for maker of the winning video will be a trip to the European country of their choice for two travellers.

I agree that the quality of travel videos is very variable.
I'm sure you'll get some great footage of your forthcoming trip, which sounds really interesting.

I enjoyed watching this video feels a great impact on Maastrand this is the place I would like to travel in future.

Traveller in India, I think that if watching a video makes viewers want to visit a destination, it's a very effective marketing tool.

We will be taking quite a bit of video on our upcoming journey from Alaska to Argentina. We'll be riding bikes, so we'll have plenty of opportunities to get some good footage! And - one of our sons will be riding on the back of a tandem, so he should be able to get a lot since he won't have to control a bike.
