A barge is a flat-bottomed boat that is used mainly for river and canal transport of heavy goods. Barges, however, have also been converted into hotels.
Staying in a Hotel Barge would be a great way to cruise through the waterways of France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Holland and Italy.
Barges vary in capacity. They can carry a small group of four passengers or even up to a big group of 50. Like your standard land-based hotels, hotel barges vary in class. Yes, even barges can offer ueber luxurious types of accommodations and facilities.
