It may still be a little cool in your part of Glasgow or Leeds, but much of our half of the world is warming up. And it's providing some marvelous weather for golf. Consider some of these fantastic locations where you could be walking the fairways…
- The Papillon Ayscha in Turkey – One of the very best hotels in Belek, this is Turkey's golfing paradise. The hotel sits on a beautiful stretch of beach (so the wife can sun herself while you play) and an array of first class Belek championship golf courses are right on your doorstep.
- San Lorenzo Resort in Portugal – Located in the Ria Formosa nature reserve, the backdrop for this course couldn't be more enchantingly beautiful. This course, designed by the American architect Joseph Lee, is probably Portugal's finest golf course.
- Atalaya Park in Spain – Between Estepona and Marbella near the Andalucian coastline, the park has two outstanding courses. The 5,821-yard New Course was opened in 1991 and provides some incredible views of the Mediterranean and Gibraltar. The par 72 Old Course is somewhat longer (6,714 yards) and is a classic resort layout with Bermuda grass.
- Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, USA – What can I say? Golf courses fell from heaven and decorated this section of America's Eastern Seaboard. There are over 100 golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area. The city sits on The Grand Strand (one of America's longer stretches of beach). The people are friendly. The night life is great. And I spend a week there every June.
- Golf d'Hardelot in France – Located 14 miles north of the resort town of Le Touquet, Golf d'Hardelot is part of Northern France's golfing elite. The 6,480-yard Les Pins course surrounds its greens and fairways with a lush pine forest. The slightly shorter Les Dunes course is set amid the delightful dunes, lakes and mature woodland.
You need to find your clubs. It's time for golf…
