Tripwolf a new travel social guide site is launching. Nothing like a bit of Flattery to get our attention with an email from TripWolf describing Wandalust "as representing the discerning traveler of the UK and Europe" and as befitting such esteemed readers offering Wandalust readers 200 beta invites to try Tripwolf.
The first question that crossed my mind is what is going to make Tripwolf unique? Well here's what Tripwolf claim as some of their differentiating features:
1 Professional content from partner site
2 Wiki features meaning you can edit and add content
3 You'll receive personalised recommendations
4 You can print out your own guides as pdf flies
5 Consistent geo-tagging
Well I'm not entirely convinced. Will Tripwolfs' Viennese founders end up waltzing back home with their tails between their legs.

What makes tripwolf really unique is the integration with exisiting social networks. You can import your Facebook profile and your Facebook friends, and after public launch you will also be able to log in with your Facebook account. Other social networks will follow. The idea behind it: People won’t go to a travel website every day, but it should be easy for them to reach it through the sites they use a lot. What do you think about this approach?

Sebastian, thanks for illuminating us on Tripwolfs unique features. I have to admit i was feeling rather mischievous when I wrote this post with my mixed idiom and silly jokes. I do wish you success with your venture,
With regard to integration with Facebook this will be useful to avid Facebook other social network users but I’m not sure what percentage of your users will fit this category?
I have read recently that the whole “wisdom of the crowd” concept is losing some of its appeal and see that you will counteract this with professional content and gurus.

You’re welcome Mark, please give us Wandalusters some feedback about Tripwolf, I really don’t have the time to investigate.
Judging my your url “voyageek” you must be a pretty techie travel enthusiast.
