Kung Hei Fat Choy - Chinese New Year in HK
Filed in archive Destination: Asia & the Pacific by Greg Cruey on January 24, 2009
If I had the money and the time I'd probably be in Hong Kong at the moment, waiting for the Year of the Ox to roll around on Monday night. Alas, I have neither the time or the money this year for such a trip.

Rory Boland has an excellent spread of things to think about and look for if you happen to be lucky enough to get to Hong Kong for the celebration. He has everything from a look at the traditions involved in celebrating the lunar new year to upcoming events and preview of this year's parade.

If you can't make it to Hong Kong, there's always the closest Chinatown. New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Melbourne, London - all will have large celebrations in their Chinatowns this year. Enjoy the dim sum...
