Winter in Mongolia...

If you're looking for a winter vacation you can talk about for a while, someplace none of your friends have been yet, then you might be looking for Asia's newest ski destination: Sky Resort, in Mongolia.

Intrepid skiers have a new destination: Mongolia. A place called Sky Resort, situated just outside the capital of Ulan Bator on Bogd Khan Uul Mountain, opened last month as the nation's first ski resort.

While the destination is exotic, it's not exactly the perfect ski destination. The NY Times points out that the peaks top out at about 3,000 feet and the best verticals skiers will find here are only about 600 feet. But hey, it's Mongolia.

The resort is planing a to open a golf course in the near future for summer visitors.
