Since January, flood damage from heavy rains have decommission one of the world's most important tourist attracts: Machu Picchu in Peru. But The government of Peru says the site will reopen to tourism n March 29th.
The New York Times and Kayak have oth reported that the site will become accessible again at the end of the month. The rains in January washed away track for a rail link thsat allows tourists to travel by train to Machu Picchu.
Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city in Peru. It is at almost 8,000 feet in elevation, making it one of the highest elevations for any city in human history. The city was built in the 1400's and then conquored by Spanish conquistadores in 1572.
Machu Picchu is a magnificant place to visit.
