Swiss hotelier Mövenpick openend the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City today just in time for the start of the World Cup.

Given its perfect new location next to the bustling Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds, its no surprise that the hotel is more focused on delivering four-star business class services than tourism amenities for ticket touts.
Apparently Mövenpick thinks business people no longer smoke, since this is their first entirely non-smoking Hotel. Still, with 288 decked out rooms on seven floors and a panoramic terrace with views of Frankfurt's skyline, guests will probably enjoy everything the hotel has to offer (except ashtrays.)

Room features include furniture made from African zebrawood, details from the works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe above the headboards, and works of art by contemporary artists. Special rooms include two suites for wheelchair access and 8 hypo-allergenic rooms as well (which explains the smoking ban.) Public Wireless LAN is available free of charge in all the rooms.
"Although we've been present in the Frankfurt area for a number of years now with a Mövenpick Hotel at Oberursel, we're particularly delighted to have gained a foothold in the downtown area of this major city," crows the hotel's new manager.
And crow he should; the hotel's location adjacent to the the trade fair entrance, is likely to mean full bookings almost all year 'round - even if it is crowded with anti-smoking allergy suffering WiFi junkies.
