n the wake of recent airline collapses such as Zoom and Silverjet I'd advise UK residents to pay for their flight tickets by credit card. if they are booking their flights independently. At least this way, as long as your transaction is for more than £100, if the airline does collapse, the credit card company will refund your money.
I know that in the past I've been deterred from paying for my flights by credit card due to the higher card fees charged when you pay by credit card as opposed to a debit card. However I'd now look on these higher fees as a form of insurance cover.
Are you now willing to pay the extra credit card fees for great protection when you're booking your own flights?
