Reading one woman's account of a history of atrocious passport photos reminded me that whilst there's very little you can do about an atrocious passport photo, you can certainly make sure the photo (and the passport to which it is attached) are carried in style.
Aspinal has a collection of beautiful leather passport covers in the most lucious range of colours, from pastel pinks and blues to letterbox red and elegant blacks, Browns and tans. You can get them embossed with the gold emblem of your country of residency, or plain faced:

For the modern gal or gent about the globe, Flight 001 has a range of cool, funkier passport covers, with each style in a selection of colours:

I like the men's black and green leather one, although the one in the middle is apparently microfibre (which must somehow be useful... I suppose it's washable?) and the toile one is quite fashionable at the moment.

Yes! Ive seen these advertised in a glossy sunday times supplement, very swanky. Are they completely legal though? IMgaine turning up at a dangerous border checkpoint with a polkadot passport!
