Queensland - Escape to Paradise
Filed in archive Destination: Asia & the Pacific on December 10, 2006
The "Queensland - Escape to Paradise" promotion by Queensland Tourism is targetting high-end travellers looking for a luxury getaway... particularly, rich Britons.
In addition to luring new travelers, wealthy Brits who have previously visited Australia were also sent brochues about spending their holidays in Queensland.
"The new campaign will promote the cream of Queensland's luxury hotels and attractions, including the Gold Coast's Palazzo Versace, Hayman Island in the Whitsundays and Voyagers Lizard Island in far north Queensland."
Why UK tourists? Well, apparently, YOU have pumped almost $3 billion into the economy in 2005.
Moving on...
Queensland, which was named in honour of Queen Victoria, is the second largest state of Australia. Its world class beaches and the great barrier reef continues to attract millions of visitors every year.
For those who have yet to visit Queensland, their official tourism site should give you an idea of what you can expect to enjoy and experience.
Escape the gloomy UK weather. Head for swanky Queensland resorts and indulge yourself. It should go perfectly with your champagne wishes and caviar dreams.
