Rise Of 'Traincation' In Great Britain

Over half of Brits (51%) are considering ditching planes for train travel. The journey itself is actually becoming part of the holiday.

Brits love affair with cheap air travel seem to be coming to an end as Brits gripes of check-in times, queuing, limited room and further plane strikes means the 'traincation' is becoming an increasingly popular option.

83 per cent of holiday travelers wish they could make a more environmentally friendly journey. Half of plane travelers are put out by time wasted arriving ahead of departure (54 per cent) and queuing (50 per cent), whether it's for check-in, security, or boarding the aircraft. 9.3 per cent decline in air travel in 2008.

Globalcool.org, has teamed up with train guru Mark Smith from the train travel dedicated website Seat61, to give great advice on how to travel by train.

What about you..would you rather travel by train?
