I always think that Germany is overlooked as a destination by many British travellers. If you'd like to discover the Rheinland-Palantinate region the local tourist board have put together several tours to enable you to explore the region.

On the Romance and UNESCO tour you spend the first two nights in Trier, the Roman capital of the Western Empire. You'll receive a welcome meal, a tickets to all the Roman buildings and a walking tour. Then it's two nights in Koblenz on the River Rhine where one meal, a river cruise and city tour is included. The final two nights are spent in Speyer, most famous for it's cathedral founded in 1030. The package costs from 509 euro per person, based on two sharing. with bed and breakfast accommodation in hotels.
You can find cheap flights to Frankfurt Hahn with Ryanair.
