The doors have just opened on a the new Cabot Circus shopping centre in the city of Bristol in south west England. The three storey development has taken three years to construct at a cost of £500 million and will house 120 stores with several big names such as house of fraser and Harvey Nichols.
Now I'm not sure this is a good time to launch a new shopping centre in the dark days of the credit crunch you do wonder how much disposable income will be left for retail therapy.
However there's a lot to do and see in Bristol. The Visit Bristol site lists the top 10 with attractions such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Harbourside and Bristol Gardens Zoo.
I've been to Bristol a couple of times and would recommend it as an interesting, lively city.

I took a brief look at Cabot Circus and was overwhelmed by the palace of commercialism but wasn’t convinced that it will be the best thing for Bristol. All the high St stores have just moved from other parts of central Bristol leaving big gaps elsewhere.
I live in Bristol and you can read more about the city on my blog posts here

Loved the Architecture
Not moved by the shopping experience!
Parking while plenty of room for vehicles not enough pay machines and FAR TOO expensive £5 for 2hours 12 minutes!
I wont be back!

We had a nice long weekend of shaooping at Cabot Circus – based at http://www.geometricapartments.com it wasd a nice 3 minute walk to all the shops – Harvey Nichols was good but not a hige range and pretty expensive but the cafe was reasonable – great architecture.
