Shopping Weekend in Paris

The Telegraph has a rather delightful guide to a girls' weekend in Paris, covering where to sleep, where to sip, where to lunch and where to scuff your dancing shoes.

Top among their picks for hotels is (of course!) the Hôtel du Petit Moulin, the Christian Lacroix designed cream puff of Parisian hotels.

Each of the 17 rooms in this boutique hotel are individually designed, and each one is more surprising and delicious than the last. The effect is rather like rummaging through your (caked) grandmother's jewellery box:

"Some of them are somewhat classic, while others are a little kitsch, or even Zen, in order to symbolise all of the different faces of Le Marais; from old-fashioned Jouy Linen to sixties design."

Room rates start at an extremely reasonable 180 euros per room per night, but the Petite Moulin is running a shoppers special at the moment for guests booking an Executive room for a three night minimum. For 290 euros per night, you also get a private VIP shopping card valid for 1 year which entitles the bearer to 15% discounts and personal services in "famous fashion, design and beauty boutiques in Paris." Named retailers include Lancel, Cacharel and Jean-Paul Gaultier so for the right fashion Diva, this could prove to be a very money saving weekend indeed.
