M, a good friend of mine, visited her sister in Norway last winter and came back with spectacular pictures. Not only did she took good visuals of the Norwegian winter but also dazzling pictures of the Northern Lights in Tromso.
The Northern Lights or aurora borealis
originate from the sun. This phenomenon happens as a result of solar particles colliding with gases in the earth's atmosphere.Northern Lights season in Norway is about to start. It normally happens on a dark and clear day between November and April, which is the high season. This spectacular phenomena can be seen from the afternoon until the middle of the night.
If you're planning to see the Northern Lights and have some winter fun in Norway, Fjord Travel offers "The Northern Lights Cruise Trip", an unescorted tour for 7 nights. Activities include a scenic train ride, dog sledding, excursion in the North Cape land, accommodations in the Bristol Hotel and of course, 4 nights of the Norwegian Coastal Voyage.
