If you're looking for somewhere different to stay what about a room in the lighthouse in Alesund on Norway's west coast. The lighthouse is now room 47 of Brosundet Hotel
You'll need deep pockets as Room 47 costs around £290 a night.

Alesund, full of Art Nouveau architecture, was recently voted the most beautiful city in Norway in a newspaper readers poll. You can fly to Alesund with SAS from London.
The Boat Festival takes place on July 11 2008 and you can be a viking for the day on 1 August 2008.
