British Airways cabin crews will go out on strike for four weeks starting May 18th, according to CNN
The British Airways strike will mean that cabin crews work once every six days, flying on May 23rd, May 29th, and June 4th before ending the strike on June 10th – one day before the World Cup in South Africa.
The strike would cost British Airways about 150 million pounds ($223 million), according to BusinessWeek. Walk outs back in March already cost the company about 45 million pounds.
London-based British Airways is Europe's third largest airline. Over eighty percent of the cabin crews participating in the strike vote cast ballots in favor of the strike. Cabin crews rejected British Airways latest contract offer this past weekend.
