The Flip Video Camera is billed as the "ultimate point and click" video camera and it does live up to this as it's very simple even for a non techie person like me to use. I liked the fact that the Flip is very compact and light and fits easily in my handbag. The quality of the video footage and the sound was pretty good for a relatively cheap video camera. Hey, we're not talking about making professional movies here. I think that the footage is ideal to capture travel locations either for your own personal use or to upload to your website or blog to give readers more insight into a destination.
The Flip records up to 60 minutes of footage. It costs around £100 to buy in the UK.
The only problem I had with the Flip was that I couldn't get the integral USB into any of the ports on my Mac due to the physical design of the Mac. This was easily remedied with the purchase of a USB to USB cable for £3. Then it was easy to upload photos to the computer.
So if you're a non techie person like me who wants to take and upload videos with no hassle, the Flip fits the bill.

I received a free Flip video camera to review as part of the Flip launch in the UK on the 9th June 2008.

I was a little less excited. The camera performed well for the first two weeks. Then it died. I couldn’t get it fixed for less than the price of a new one. I had no patience for the warranty process, so I threw it in the garbage, right back where I bought it:

To be fair – same thing happened with the last camera and the DVD player I bought.
