For the last 46 days, all we ever hear about Burma (or Myanmar) is about protests, the military junta and Aung San Suu Kyi. We don't really know a lot about Burma apart from what we see in the news and what Rudyard Kipling wrote in his book.

Orient Express' The Road to Mandalay is the best way to see the untouched beauty of the ancient land of Burma. The cruise starts from Mandalay and travels to the Ayeyarwady River, where travelers get to witness the richness of the Burmese culture hidden from the outside world.

Among the sights that you'll seen when you take The Road to Mandalay are:

Bagan which was founded by a Burmese King and a former center to Bhuddist spirituality.

Bhamo, a trading post near the Chinese border.

Mandalay, where you can see the Golden Palace Monastery and the Mahamuni Pagoda, home the most venerated Buddha statue in Mandalay.

Mount Popa, complex of monasteries, pagodas and shrines.

Yangon (formerly Rangoon), capital of Burma and home of the golden Shwedagon Pagoda.

If you want to see these amazing sites and the help the people of Burma find peace, add your name and spread the word.
