The Smell of Home Away from Home

It appears that in an effort to give guests all the comforts of home, the Sheraton Four Points brand of hotels will be piping the smell of cinnamon apple pie into its hotel lobbies. I'm tempted to say "only in America" but actually I'm praying this is only in America.

According to Bandweek, this is part of "Starwood Hotel & Resorts' sensory marketing strategy, which has assigned signature scents for Westin (White Tea) and Sheraton (Welcoming Warmth with fig, bargamot, jasmine and freesin)."

Oh good. Bargamont. Just what I need after 2 hours of airport commuting, 10 hours on a plane, 40 minutes in luggage reclaim, 60 minutes at immigration, and 30 minutes in a taxi.

Beaujolais, yes. Bargamont, no.
