New blast carriers, strict limits on access of public vehicles, and new baggage checks, are Prime Minister Gordon Brown's plan to build up Britain's defenses against car bombs at airports and train stations.
A review by the terrorism minister recommended extra protection against car bombs. Nine hundred public spaces were reviewed after a failed bomb attack in the West End this year. As well as a result of the review of the July 2005 bombings that killed lots of innocent people.
The new baggage checks will be introduced at major rail terminals. However, rules on limiting of access to airport and rail stations were not elaborated.
