It is indeed a bleak day for emma Clarke, London's "tube"-announcer. London Underground terminated her services after a series of spoof announcements that she posted on her website.
The reason behind her firing is that "she criticised the Underground system" and made fun of American tourists,
although London Underground's spokesman admitted that some of her spoofs were funny.
Emma Clarke has been for the past 8 years the famous voice behind "Mind the gap" and "stand clear of the closing doors". She is also a professional voice-over artist.
Download an MP3 of her spoof in Emma Clark.
