Seriously, you had me at Venice...but all right, layer on the cuisine and fabulous view if you must.
My husband and I almost passed up a visit to Venice a few years ago, but then my dad insisted it was the most romantic city on Earth.
Sometimes, our parents do know better...

I can't deny it, Venice is a beautiful and achingly romantic place, but all those struggling to set the right mood on a tight budget could struggle to find a bargain break there.
