It's reported that Verona has paid the Louvre a cool four million euros to borrow 140 masterpieces to display in an exhibition at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona from the 19th September until the 15 February 2009. By my reckoning that just under 30,000 euros per painting. The exhibition will include works by Leonardo, Rembrandt and Raphael encompassing the theme of the human figure over five centuries.

Sound like a wonderful exhibition and all the more reason to visit the beautiful city of Verona. I just wonder the price of entry to the Exhibition will be?
