Watch New York Drop the Ball

Since 1907, thousands of people gather in Times Square on New Year's Eve to watch the Ball drop. The "ball" is the famous Waterford Crystal Ball which weighs 485 kg, measures 1.8m in diameter and is installed with 504 crystal triangles.

Why not see this world-famous end of the year countdown LIVE? Celebrate and party with thousands of people as you wait (and watch) when New York drops the ball.

Should you decide to join the festivities, keep the following in mind:

  • Naturally, many others will be there so it would be best to go to the viewing area early.
  • Best viewing area would be in Broadway — from 43rd Street to 50th Street and along Seventh Avenue (until 59th Street).
  • Do NOT bring Alcohol. Cops will confiscate it if they see you.
  • Use your hotel's bathroom before you go. Obviously, with thousands of people around, you definitely wouldn't be able to rush to a bathroom which, anyway, would be far away.
