The Telegraph recently published an overview of ski resorts in the French Alps.
When it comes to skiing , France gets a lot of things right. More than 300 resorts, many located at high altitude, provide skiers with some 5,000 miles of pistes – a great number of which are to be found in massive, efficiently lift-connected ski areas such as Espace Killy, Les Trois Vallées, Paradiski and Portes du Soleil. For those who prefer the thrill of the off-piste, there are world-class destinations to choose from (Chamonix, La Grave, Alpe d'Huez, Val d'Isère, to name a few) and the attitude towards off-piste skiing is relaxed yet controlled. The article provides links to five related pieces on French Ski resorts. It looks at both the Southern Alps and the Northern Alps, as well as skiing in the Pyrénées.
