I like wildflowers. My wife thinks they're weeds when they grow in our yard (like dandelions, for example), but I still enjoy looking at the colors.

In much of the United States it will be a good year for wildflowers. A weather pattern called El Nino has meant a wetter than normal winter. That will mean more flowers than usual – especially in America's drier Western regions. The national parks (like Yellowstone and Joshua Tree) will see lots of visitors this spring. Of course, there'll be plenty to see in places like the mountains of Appalachia, too.

Of course, you don't have to travel all the way to the Mohave Desert to see wild flowers. You can always just toss out a few wildflower seeds of your own. But the national parks in the US will be spectacular this year. I haven't been west in a few years. Perhaps I'll go this summer.
